POP-UP LIDO
Leeds BID
Leeds Dock
2024
The POP-UP Lido is a study for Leeds BID (Business Improvement District) to help understand the feasibility of locating a temporary swimming pool in the heart of the city as a public realm initiative.
The pool would be constructed from three 20ft freight containers, which are cut to size and then bolted together. A fibreglass liner would make the pool watertight.
Freight containers enabled the fabrication and build to be carried out off site then delivered to its final location in parts, on the back of a lorry. The pool would be built by our fabrication team in the city centre in a new POP-UP landscape.
